We're trying to act like we know what we are doing. So, in the next few months, we will be releasing two more tapes.
The first will be the cassette version of Roman Candles' "Riley VS Jason In The Battle of Gracious Living". Roman Candles is the creation of Christopher Gordon, a Yorba Linda native and writer of the zine the stowaways. Christopher has been a strong supporter of what we and others in the Southern California community have created, so it only makes sense that we release "Riley VS Jason" in what ever way we can. This album represents a lot of the frustrations and jaded feelings we have about growing up in Orange County, and it is definitely Roman Candles' strongest release to date. The cassette version of "Riley VS Jason" will be AVO-003, and should be ready for preorder by the end of February.
Our second release, AVO-004, will be the cassette release of Bedhed's current full length "...The Return of the Guardian Angel." Bedhed is moniker of Ian Holshevnikoff, a Los Angeles native. I discovered Bedhed through Torrance's Merry Christmas, local heroes and enthusiasts of local music. Through their internet fingers, they shared a link of Bedhed's "Destruction Manual"that had just been released early 2013. From there, our friends at therevolutionarypoor invited Ian to play an acoustic show in Yorba Linda and literally blew every attendee away with his acoustic performance. He has always been on my mind ever since. "...The Return of the Guardian Angel" is the kind of release that has once again reinstated our faith in local music. After listening to it at least 10 times through, we contacted Ian and offered to put out a cassette of the release. We hope to do this album justice, because it is sincerely one of the best releases we have heard from a local artist in a long time. This cassette should be available for preorder by the end of March, maybe early April.
One way you can help both of these releases get out faster is to purchase our first two releases: Fugue's "Solitude / Traffic" 7 inch, and Pedestrian's "Everyone I Know Who Skis Is Dead" cassette. We also have added Canyon's self-titled EP cassette and Loughton's "Technicolor Fracture" cassette to our distribution. We will be building our distro up throughout these next few months. We appreciate the support we have received thus far, and we look forward to doing more. Take it easy
